Conner is finally here! He was born yesterday, January 5, weighing in at 9 lbs even and 21.5 inches long. Katie was very excited to meet him and Cassie isn't quite sure exactly what is going on. Things should be interesting when we get him home!

Happy New Year
No, we still don't have a baby!! We have an induction scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 5 unless the baby decides to come on his own before then. I do not foresee that happening so I am planning on getting up bright and early Tuesday morning to head to the hospital. My doctor just did not feel comfortable doing it before now because I had not made any progress. We had to go in yesterday to have a non-stress test (NST) done on the baby and everything looked good, so they felt comfortable holding off on the induction until Tuesday.
I think we had a nice Christmas. I say "think" because I never really realized that Christmas had come and gone. Once we knew we weren't going to have a baby by then, we concentrated more on the girls and making Christmas memorable for them. Kevin and I had as much fun preparing for Santa as they did.
We have definitely had an adventurous holiday season. We had planned a while back for the girls to go visit with my mom and sister for a few days after Christmas thinking that the baby would be here. I developed a fever, bad headache and chills late the night of the 23rd and ending up going to the ER just to get everything checked out. The baby was fine but I felt really bad on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so my parents went ahead and took the girls for a visit so I could get some rest. They were able to take them to see my grandmother, whom we only get to see once or twice a year, so that worked out good. They were also able to spend some time at my sister's house, which they loved.
The night before they were to come home, my mom fell (while holding Cassie) and twisted her leg and ending up breaking a bone in her knee and doing some cartilage damage. Somehow Cassie (and Katie, who was on the couch right beside Mom) managed to sleep through the whole ordeal. So, Mom will be going in for surgery on the same morning that I am being induced. I will really miss her being here, but hopefully it won't take her long to rebound.
2010 is definitely starting out as an interesting year and I can't wait to see what else the year holds. Just say a prayer for all of us on Tuesday that Mom's surgery will go well and my induction will go smoothly.
I will try to get some Christmas pictures on here soon.
Happy New Year!

The Rockettes
The (older) girls of the family went to see the Radio City Rockettes Christmas show at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. It was a fabulous show and a lot of fun!

Christmas Part I
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we had to alter our usual Christmas plans this year due to the impending arrival of this baby (who I admittedly had hoped and thought would be here by now). We traveled to my sister's house the weekend after Thanksgiving and celebrated Christmas with my extended family on my mom's side.
Cassie was so excited about her doll stroller she decided to get on the box.

Katie with my grandmother "Gran". I seriously cannot even imagine Christmas without this lady. She truly is the cornerstone of this side of the family and makes Christmas so special for each and every one of us.

More Randomness
These are some pictures from back in September. I realize they are a few months old, but this is actually my first time seeing them. The girls and I visited my parents for the weekend.
Enjoying playing outside...they turned the wagon for blocks into a riding wagon. And yes, they still have their pajamas on.

We had all of my grandmothers great-grandchildren together in UGA gear, so we attempted to get a picture.

December Randomness
I apologize again for not updating the blog in a while. Between taking care of a 4-year-old and 14-month-old while trying to get ready for baby #3, things have been a little hectic. Not knowing exactly when this baby will be here has caused us to alter our holiday plans this year so we have already started celebrating Christmas. We traveled last weekend to Georgia to celebrate with my extended family and grandmother. Hopefully my dear sister will send me her pictures from that soon and I will add them on here.
In the meantime, here are a few.
A few weeks ago, Santa Claus arrived at The Summit and our neighbors took Katie with their daughter to see him and the Christmas lights.
She had to have a funny face picture.

Cassie wanted to go with the big girls but she had been battling a cold and didn't need to be out in the weather. Notice the red calculator lying in the floor and the pen in her hand...anytime we are in the car or the grocery store, I can hand her these two things and the child is content for hours!

Katie's Birthday
Sorry it has taken so long, but here are pictures from Katie's 4th Birthday. She had a pumpkin painting party. This was the first party that she had with her friends, so it was a lot of fun for her and fun for me to plan it for her. Thankfully, both sets of her grandparents were also able to come so that made it even more special.

"School" Pictures
These are pictures of the girls made at Mother's Day Out. I thought they turned out so cute. I am putting them on here so the grandparents can see them and decide if and which ones they want!

Is it Halloween yet?
Katie has been attending Awana at the new church we have been visiting. She goes to choir first and then Awana and when we arrived to choir last night, I realized that I had completely forgotten it was Crazy Hat Night at Awana. While she was at choir, I ran to Wal-Mart hoping I could find some sort of hat in the Halloween section. Believe it or not, the only thing I could find was a pink cowgirl hat attached to a cowgirl costume. Keep in mind that she had already picked out a pink fairy costume for Halloween. I ran back to the church, getting back just as choir was about to finish. Thankfully, Katie approved of the hat and wore it to Awana. When she got home and realized there was a whole cowgirl costume with the hat, she decided she wanted to be a cowgirl for Halloween instead of the pink fairy. As soon as she got home from Mother's Day Out today, she had to try on the whole cowgirl outfit and has not taken it off. I hope I can get it off to wash it before Halloween. Now if we could just find some pink cowgirl boots...
